Admissions are announced once in a year. The candidate’s meets the following criteria are eligible to apply in AM College, Rwp.
The following conditions govern the eligibility of the candidates for admission in the MBBS and BDS Courses in the ArmyMedicalCollege:-
Nationality:The candidate, except for the Foreign Students, must be a citizen of Pakistan including
AJK.
Marital Status:Unmarried
Age Limit: Between 16-1/2 years to 21-1/2 years on the date fixed by GHQ for admission in the 1st year of the MBBS/BDS course.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
· F.Sc (Pre-Medical) with 70% marks except residents of Balochistan, Sind, NA, AJK & FATA who can apply with 65% marks.· GCE ’0′ level with five subjects (English as compulsory), additional ‘A’ level with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum C/6 grades.
EQUIVALENCE: The candidates educated from the foreign schools/universities must get an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Ministry of Education Pakistan before applying to General Headquarters. Candidates applying without equivalent marks/certificate from the competent authority will not be considered for admission.
PhysicalStandard: The candidate must be physically fit in all respects for service in
any part of the world and must conform to the minimum laid down physical
and medical standard of the Army.

Weight: Should not be overweight according to age and height.

Vision: Distant vision – C/9, 6/12 with glasses Near vision J2, J7 or N8, N12 with or without glasses

Currently the following categories of Cadets are inducted for MBBS and BDS degrees
(1) Medical Cadets (MC), (2) Medical Dental Cadets (MDC), (3) Paying Cadets (PC/PDC), (4) NUST Cadets (NC/NDC), and (5) NUST Foreign Cadets (NFS)
Application forms:Application forms can be obtained from the Army Selection and Recruitment Centre on production of a Crossed Postal Order for Rs. 100/- in favor of DPA, GHQ, Rawalpindi, and payment of Rs. 20.00 as cost of the form. The telephone numbers of the Army Selection & Recruitment Centres (AS&RC) are given as follows: Peshawar (091-2015885), Rawalpindi (051-56134137), Lahore (042-66995885), Multan (061-5315885), Hyderabad (0221-7915885), Quetta (081-92095885), and Karachi (021-5605885). The completed application forms will be submitted to the same AS&RC from where purchased. Following documents must accompany the application:
• Photocopy of FSc Certificate with detailed marks sheet• Photocopy of Matric Certificate with detailed marks sheet• Photocopy of NCC certificate, if applicable• Passport size photograph (3 copies)• Citizenship Certificate if migrated to Pakistan after 13 April 1951.
Entrance Examination:The eligible candidates will undergo an Entrance Examination consisting of an about 100 quiz type questions/MCQs in Physics, Chemistry and Biology of Intermediate standard. The test is conducted at the centre specified in the call up notice. A merit list is prepared at GHQ on the basis of the marks obtained in Matric, F.Sc and the Entrance Test.
Medical Examination:The candidates included in the final merit list undergo Medical Examination at a MilitaryHospital. The date for the Medical Examination is intimated to each candidate.
Intelligence Test and Interview:The candidates declared medically fit are called up for an intelligence test and interview by the Selection Board at Rawalpindi Centre.
Final Selection:Finally the candidates are selected, on the basis of their overall performance in the Matric, F.Sc, the Entrance Examination, and intelligence test/ interview. The list of the candidates finally selected is forwarded to other medical college in the country for information. The selected candidates receive joining instructions from Adjutant General’s Branch, PA-3(c), Rawalpindi intimating details of their arrival, mode of travel, outfit/uniform etc.
Enrollment:The selected candidates will be enrolled asMedical Cadets/Dental Cadetsaccording to the conditions and procedure laid down in the Recruitment Regulations. The Medical Cadets/Dental Cadets will be subject to the Military Law (The Pakistan Army Act).
Surety Bond:All the Medical/Dental Cadets and their parents/ guardians (except the paying cadets, foreign students & NUST cadets) sign a Surety Bond on a stamped judicial paper of thirty rupees value and duly countersigned by a Magistrate Class-l. This binds the cadet to serve in the Armed Forces of Pakistan anywhere in the world for a minimum period of 13 years after completion of his/her graduation on the expense of Government. In case of relegation, dismissal, expulsion, the medical cadet/officer will have to pay the penalty specified in the bond.
Commissioning: After completion of their medical studies at this College the male graduates will undergo 16 weeks of basic military training at PMA Kakul. On its successful completion, they may be granted permanent regular commission as a Captain in the Army Medical/Dental Corps.
The paying cadet (PC) scheme has been introduced to offer benefit to the wards of Army Forces personnel. Application form for paying cadets should be submitted on the specified dates. Prescribed application form may be obtained from Welfare and Rehabilitation Directorate (WR-4) AG’S Branch General Headquarters, Rawalpindi. (There will be no advertisement of the scheme in the newspapers). The candidates for PCs must have applied in open merit in the Civil Medical Colleges of the Province of domicile. Failure to abide by this instruction will render candidate ineligible for consideration as paying cadet. Selection in CivilMedicalCollege will make the candidate ineligible for admission as a paying cadet.
Concealing Information:In case any information about selection on open merit in any civil medical college is concealed and it is revealed later at any stage it will make the candidate liable to necessary disciplinary action/withdrawal from the college.
The Army medical College is one of 10 constituent colleges / institutes of the National University of Science & Technology. To extend the facilities of this centre of excellence to the civil sector, partly on the basis of self-financing, the NUST cadets have been introduced. The University conducts a separate examination for admission into this College for such cadets. Application form for NUST cadets, complete in all respects should be submitted to the National University of Science & Technology, (NUST)(NUST)Tamizuddin Road, Lalkurti, Rawalpindion the dates advertised separately by the University in the national press. The candidate must be willing to follow the rules and regulations of Pakistan Army/ College and will wear uniform and mufti as applicable to Pakistani cadets. Some seats are offered to friendly foreign countries through the Government of Pakistan. All Foreign Students are inducted through the NUST. (All applications /inquiries regarding admission in the cadre of foreign students may please be routed through the respective embassies/consulates of their country in Pakistan). A candidate desirous in this category must have an Educational Qualification of F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent as recognized by University Grants Commission. He / she is also required to be proficient in written and spoken English, be between 17-21 years of age, be medically fit to undergo the rigorous college studies. The candidate must be willing to follow the rules and regulations of Pakistan Army/ College and will wear uniform and mufti as applicable to Pakistani cadets. The competent authority determines tuition fee and other administration charges from time to time.
